Meet Willy

Willy Fogle is a life-long Lexington resident. He brings to the table invaluable experience and a strong understanding of how local government can best serve citizens.

Willy and his wife Lisa, have two beautiful daughters, Kendall and Stephanie, and appreciate spending their spare time cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats and enjoying their fur babies, Jake and Pepper Ann and Echo. Willy believes strongly in giving back to the community. He has even earned the title “King of the Polar Bear Plunge” for Kentucky Special Olympics three times–a designation awarded to the person who raises the most donations for the annual Plunge. Willy and Lisa are very excited to welcome their first grandchild later this spring.

With your support and your vote, Willy looks forward to hitting the ground running on next year’s City Council and being an independent, commonsense voice for all 9th district neighborhoods down at City Hall.

His tenure on Lexington’s City Council included serving as Chairman of Council’s Intergovernmental Committee, serving on the Council’s Budget and Finance Committee, and establishing the Animal Control Oversight Committee. He served on the Lexington-Fayette Board of Health, the Lexington Center Board, the Explorium of Lexington Board, and the Bluegrass Area Development District Board. He was awarded the Fayette County Neighborhood Council’s ‘Neighborhood Hero Award’ in 2002. He also served as Council Liaison for the Mayor’s office from 2003 to 2007 and served as a Legislative Council Aide to former Lexington Councilmember Julian Beard from 2009 through 2015.

“My focus has been always been improving the quality of life in our Lexington neighborhoods by ensuring we have essential and effective public safety and commonsense independent leadership down at City Hall,” Fogle notes.

“Voters expect that each tax dollar is spent thoughtfully and frugally, and I am proud of the nickname ‘Frugal Fogle.’ After all, I earned it—and as my experience and knowledge of City Hall and local government is unmatched in this race, I would like to humbly serve the citizens of Lexington on the City Council once again. I cannot imagine living or doing business anywhere else.”

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Fogle, 58, is currently an Independent Life and Health Insurance Agent in Lexington.

Please consider a donation to help Willy fund his campaign and be sure to tell your friends and neighbors in the 9th District to “Go with Fogle!” on Tuesday, November 3rd.

UPDATELisa and I could not be more proud! I am pleased to announce that we are now officially grandparents!

Meet Kaelin Arya Paige Haney. She arrived on April 2nd at 5:54 p.m. at 6 lbs. 8 oz. Such a beautiful baby! (Yes, I may be a little partial.)

I am also happy to report that Kendall is doing fine. This is such a joyous moment for our family and Stephanie is pretty excited about becoming an Aunt.

When Lisa and I discussed me running to once again serve on the City Council, it definitely included our concern that Lexington have strong, independent, experienced representatives down at City Hall–for the many families and residents of the great neighborhoods of the 9th District who deserve no less.

I want to once again put my knowledge of and experience with local government to work for you, your family, and my family–serving our neighborhoods to the best of my ability.

Let’s keep Lexington a great place to live, work, play, and raise children–and of course, grandchildren!

Congratulations, Kendall! I know you are going to make a fantastic Mom!
